FFA Hits High Honors

DSCF8121This year the Sebeka FFA Crops team was outstanding and the many hours of preparation that went into this year’s State FFA Convention paid dividends. They were rewarded with a First place finish, recognized on stage in front of the 3,600 plus FFA members and guests in attendants at this year’s Convention. Anna Johnson lead the team placing first as an individual, Amber Johnson made the top ten with a fifth place finish. Other members of the winning crops team are Kajsa Anderson who just missed a top ten finish by placing 14th and Kaleb Putzke who was the 66th individual. The Crops team will now prepare for Agronomy contest at the National FFA Convention in Lousiville, Kentucky this October. The Sebeka Milk Quality team also did well finishing 12th as a team. The team was composed of Greta Hensel, Andy Hensel, Anna Olson and Moriah Nevala. Also competing at the State Convention was the Forestry Team ( George Lausten, Wyatt Meech, Heather Schnoor, and Jeffery Erickson), Livestock Judging Team (Logan Olson, Brody Brockpahler, and Dylan Schnoor). Competing as individuals in contests where Landon Oshie in Meats and Ben Lindroos in Ag Mechanics. Sebeka’s musical talents were also represented well by Anna Johnson who played in the State FFA Band, while Amber Johnson and Kajsa Anderson sang in the State FFA Choir.
Anna Johnson was also recognized on stage Monday night for being the Region II Star Farmer and for receiving her State Degree which is the Highest Degree the State can award.
