Coed Varsity Cross Country · Elementary Warriors in Training Run Well at Perham

The 5th and 6th grade cross country program has been a big hit in it’s first year at Menahga and Sebeka.  The group includes 32 5th and 6th graders that have already competed both at Frazee and Perham.  Both girls and boys groups are undefeated as a team and have placed the top girls and boys runner at both meets.  They wrap up their season running in Henning on Monday.

Perham Elementary run

At Perham the boys 5th and 6th graders placed first out of 6 teams beating perennial power Perham by 11 points.  6th grader Andreas Aho won the meet besting his teammate, 5th grader Connor Korvela, who took 2nd.  Overall the boys points scorers where Andreas Aho (1st), Connor (2nd), Brian Keranen (9th), Adam Spadgenske (12th), and Joel Isaacson (19th).

The girls Mini Warriors ran just as well!  The girls team nearly posted a perfect score beating 2nd place Perham by 70 points.  Martha Peterson led the group taking 1st place overall.  Fellow 6th graders Timbr Berttunen, Kate Hendrickson and Maddie Thene taking 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively.  Overall the girls placed 6 in the top 10 and 8 in the top 20 overall girls places.
