Jack Lillquist hit a free throw with 2.4 seconds left to give the Sebeka Trojans the final lead as they defeated the Menahga Braves 55-54 in Park Region Conference action Friday night. The Trojans used zone defense to fluster the Braves in the first half and they held a 28-17 lead at the break. Menahga made a run in the second half by crashing the offensive glass and getting many second-chance points but the Trojans never relinquished the lead.
Thane Dailey led a balanced offensive attack for the Trojans with fourteen points. Kaleb Putzke had a great overall game for the Trojans with eight points and ten rebounds. Caleb Puttonen had ten points, James Clark had nine, and Jack Lillquist had seven to go along with five rebounds.
The Trojans improved to 6-3 on the year and 2-1 in the conference. On Monday, December 21st they are in action at home as they take on New York Mills in the opening game of their Christmas tournament.
