The Sebeka Trojans were 4 outs away from knocking off #1 seeded BOLD (Bird Island-Olivia-Lake Lillian District) when the Warriors hit a three run home run to take a 4-2 lead they wouldn’t surrender.
Sebeka would break open a 0-0 tie in the top of the 5th to go up 2 to 0. David Avelsgard led off with a walk. After a sacrifice and a groundout, Noah Stevens was drilled in the upper back by a pitch. Mason Dailey then gave the Trojans a 1 to 0 lead with a sharply hit single. Spencer Lake followed with a high fly ball to left that was lost in the sun. Stevens hustled it out and scored to make it 2 to 0 Trojans.
The fateful bottom of the sixth started for the Warriors with one out. They started getting on by an error then hit back to back soft line drives that found holes to give the Warriors their first run and runners at second and third. Kolby Kiser struck out the next batter for the second out. The fifth batter in the order then hit a ball to right field that hit the top of the fence and bounced over. Kiser pitched an outstanding game for Sebeka.
The Trojans next play tomorrow, Friday, in the consolation bracket at 10:00 in Chaska.
