Game Recap

Sebeka took a 11 point halftime lead into the second half. The Trojans would get the lead up to 15 but could never put the pesky Hornets away. Henning would make a run to cut the lead to 7 but couldn’t get closer as Sebeka ran their record to 4-1 on the season.

James Clark led the Trojans with 25 points, followed by Wyatt Meech with 18 and Jack Lillquist with 12. The win was also the conference opener for both teams.

The Trojans have their first home game on Friday when they host Bertha-Hewitt.

Boys Varsity Wrestling · Austin Bacon Named Outstanding Wrestler


austinbacon The UNC Warriors continue to wrestle well taking 4th at a 12 team tournament in Crookston.  Austin Bacon earned Outstanding Wrestler by winning the toughest weight class at the tournament, beating: Nate Golden (Bemidji), 2016 state entrant Nolan Booge (Park Rapids), and Colton Weiland (Crookston).  Ben Johnson also took 1st beating Walker’s Dillion Mcgee, who was a State Finalist at last years State Tournament.  Seven other UNC wrestlers earned a place: Isaac Tellers 2nd, Jared Seibert 2nd, Eion Ness 3rd, Toby Hintzman 3rd, Gator Bettin 4th, Cade LaCoe 5th, and Mason Bradley 6th.

Game Recap

Nevis used a scorching shooting start to pounce on the Trojans early 13-2 lead and never looked back as they trounced Sebeka 82-54. Nevis finished 12-20 on three pointers for the night. Sebeka was led by James Clark with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Jack Lillquist added 14 points and 8 rebounds. Caleb Puttonen and Mason Dailey each pitched in 8 points. Colt Hansen led the team with 9 rebounds.

Sebeka travels to Central Lakes College on Saturday to take on Cromwell-Wright at 1:00.

Coed Varsity Skills Usa · Sebeka SkillsUSA students elected state officers


George and Danya

The SkillsUSA Assembly Delegate Conference was held at South Central College in North Mankato Tuesday November 22nd, 2016. Hunter Roberts, George Lausten, Danya Yoch and advisor Mr. Tom Smith attended.  Voting delegates from participating schools across Minnesota elect their state officers.

George Lausten and Danya Yoch were two of the 14 high school and college students  elected to serve as SkillsUSA state officers.  They will serve during the 2016-2017 school year. Both high school and college state officers will travel to events across the state sharing the message of Career and Technical Education, especially the message of SkillsUSA.

SkillsUSA Minnesota officers work together to develop engaging educational conferences for the thousands of student members state wide.  Additionally, they visit business and industry representatives and legislative representatives.  Through effective speaking and facilitating techniques, SkillsUSA Minnesota leaders communicate the message of career-readiness.

According to Ms. Jennifer Polz, State Director of SkillsUSA, “SkillsUSA state officers develop and use high level leadership skills to prepare themselves and others for future careers.  SkillsUSA state officers are among the most elite student leaders in each state.”
