Coed Varsity BPA · BPA National Qualifiers


The Sebeka BPA had 10 students qualify for the 2017 BPA National Leadership Convention in Orlando, Florida on May 10-14.  Amber Johnson will compete in Advanced Interview, Parliamentary Procedure Team of Scarlett Lausten, Megan Heino, Amber Johnson, Kajsa Anderson, Brianna Nims, and Alyssa Vargo, and the Financial Analyst Team of Colt Hansen, George Lausten, Wyatt Meech, and Caleb Puttonen will be competing.  These 10 students will be doing some fundraising for their trip.  If you would like to help these students pay for nationals:  They are working at the Pizza Ranch on April 10th from 5:00 to 7:30 part of the proceeds will go to the Sebeka BPA.  We will be selling raffle tickets and we will be selling concessions at some of the home baseball and softball games.  Great job students – Thank you school and community for your support!

Coed Varsity BPA · BPA State Finalists


The Sebeka BPA had another great showing at the 2017 BPA State Leadership Convention.  19 students were state finalist and made the stage.  Individuals were Amber Johnson in Advanced Interview, Tom Meer in Web Design, Caleb Puttonen in Advanced Accounting, and Danya Yoch in Human Resource Management.  We also had three teams earn plaques.  They were Financial Analyst Team of Colt Hansen, George Lausten, Wyatt Meech, and Caleb Puttonen 2nd place, Parliamentary Procedure Team of Scarlett Lausten, Megan Heino, Amber Johnson, Kajsa Anderson, Brianna Nims, and Alyssa Vargo 2nd Place, and Parliamentary Procedure Team of Kenzie Nelson, Maya Lake, Maggie Erickson, Madi Bullock, Kolby Kiser, Tyce Lee, and Brandon Miller 3rd Place.  Great job at state – now 10 of these students will compete at the national convention in Orlando, Florida on May 10-14th.

Game Recap

The Trojan baseball team overcame a three run deficit by scoring 4 runs in the third inning and 10 runs in the 4th to defeat the OTC Bulldogs 14-4 in 5 innings. Everyone got into the action on the offensive end with every starter getting at least one hit and scoring at least one run. Seven players also had at least one RBI with Mason Dailey leading with 4, Kolby Kiser with 3 and Jack Lillquist and Isaac Tellers having 2 each.

Caleb Puttonen went the distance on the mound giving up 4 runs (2 earned), on 7 hits. He struck out 4 and walked 3.

The Trojans next game will be against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley on Monday at home.

The Sebeka Trojans baseball team erupted for 10 runs in the decisive 4th inning on their way to 14-4 victory over the OTC Bulldogs.

Game Recap

The Sebeka Trojans came alive Thursday afternoon beating OTC 13-3. An early lead helped propel the Trojans to victory, scoring 4 runs in the first. Sebeka scored four runs in the second inning with big hits from Madison Lake (triple) and Taylor Miller (double). Sebeka collected 11 hits. Megan Heino, Madison Lake, Maya Lake, and Taylor Miller each collected multiple hits for the Trojans. Heino went 3 for 4 at the plate to lead Sebeka. Their next game is Tuesday against Wadena in Sebeka.

Game Recap

Sebeka Trojans took the lead for good in the fifth inning to capture a back-and-forth game from Menahga by a 10-6 score on Tuesday. The game was tied at two in the top of the fifth when the Trojans came alive to score three more. Sebeka had a solid seventh inning, scoring three, to seal the win. Sebeka collected nine hits. Lake, Palmer, and Miller each collected multiple hits for Sebeka. Madison Lake led the Trojans by driving in five runs and going 3-4 at the plate. Their next game is Thursday against OTC in Sebeka!

Game Recap

The Trojans dropped their home opener to the Menahga Braves 3-0. Kolby Kiser started for Sebeka and pitched 4 innings giving up 0 runs, 5 hits, walking 3 and striking out 6. Isaac Tellers pitched the next 2.2 innings without allowing any earned runs. He allowed 1 hit, 3 walks and 4 strike outs.

Al Pietala went the distance for Menahga on the mound. The Trojans could only muster 2 hits off of him. Mason Dailey and William Hannu both singled in the game.

The Trojans play OTC on Friday in Battle Lake.

Game Recap

The Sebeka Trojans capitalized against the Wolverines in a 13-4 win Friday afternoon. With a slow start the Trojans were able to find their groove in the 5th inning scoring 6 to be on top 11-4. Madison Lake, Taylor Miller, and Morgan Palmer each collected multiple hits for Sebeka. Ava Rathcke pitched 5 innings, allowing four runs, five hits, and striking out three Wolverines. Emily Huotari came in to pitch in the 6th inning and with the defense behind her held Wadena scoreless. The Sebeka Trojans play Tuesday at Menahga.
